Do you have questions about the history of Christmas and Santa Claus? Look no further! Before representing someone or something, research must be done. A Historical Perspective is a comprehensive course designed for Christmas performers fascinated by the rich traditions of Christmas and the legendary figure of Santa Claus. This course delves into the origins, evolution, and cultural significancs of Christmas celebrations and the iconic character of Santa Claus across different eras and regions. Participants will study the evolution of December 25th as a Christian holiday, the origins of Santa Claus, and how the general public has misunderstood the past - passing along information that does not match the historical timeline. Join us in this course designed for all Christmas performers, or those with a desire to learn more about how Christmas and Santa Claus TRULY came to be, to spread the magic and joy of the winter holiday season! Live Zoom meetings will be held on Monday's at 7:00pm CST and last approximately 1 hour. Recordings will be up within 2 days after the meeting. Please make an effort to come prepared to the live sessions. **Readings are a part of this course.
